Introduction
Jing Hua Yuan is an animated series adapted from the classic novel of the same name by Qing Dynasty author Li Ruzhen, produced by the Shanghai Animation Film Studio in 1991. Set during the reign of Empress Wu Zetian, the story follows the scholar Tang Ao, who, disheartened by his failure in the imperial examinations, embarks on a sea voyage with his brother-in-law Lin Zhiyang to engage in trade, thus beginning a journey filled with adventures and wonders.

The fourth episode, The Two-Faced Country, was particularly honored with the Excellence Award from the Broadcasting, Film, and Television Department in 1991 and the Honorary Award at the Second China Film and Television Animation Exhibition in 1993.
